WELCOME TO OUR HOME...

It was our dream to build a log home in New Hampshire and we searched all over to find the perfect spot. When we first walked our lots overlooking Newfound Lake and the mountains it was love at first sight.  Spring fed Newfound lake is said to be one of the top ten cleanest lakes in the country. During our first walk of the property a bald eagle flew over our heads.  This is where the name Eagle Ridge Log Home came from.  Big Bear Log Home came next!

Our Story...

When designing our retirement home, we wanted to maximize the amazing views of Newfound Lake and the mountains from everywhere inside and outside the home.  This is why we chose to build a fire place flanked by a beautiful wall of windows.  We considered every detail including the sunrise and sunset locations and their relation to all of the windows in the rooms.  We tweaked many minor details in the plans to customize this home to our needs.  In both the design and decorating we wanted people to feel cozy the minute they walked into our home.

Little details throughout the home have been thoughtfully placed that help capture the log home feeling.  These details include beautiful lamps and lighting, rustic knobs, moose and bear embossed cutlery, and exquisite wood furniture throughout.

With retirement in mind we wanted to build a modestly sized log home which ended up at 1,562 square feet.  Because of the cathedral ceilings the log home feels much bigger than it is.  As you walk into the cabin you are immersed in a luxurious great room and kitchen with absolutely breathtaking views of the mountains and lake below.  We added a garage to keep the cars out of the snow of the NH winters.  A must have for us was adding a screened in porch for relaxing, eating meals or taking an afternoon nap on the futon.  With aging in mind we located the master bedroom on the first floor with easy access to our washer and dryer.  The second floor has two bedrooms, a full bathroom and a spacious loft.

Since building Eagle Ridge Log Home on the nicest piece of property we had ever seen we had the opportunity to purchase a bigger piece of property with equally breathtaking views.  This is where we chose to build Big Bear Log Home.  The lot is over 6 acres and has amazing views of Newfound Lake just like Eagle Ridge Log Home.  The two homes are close enough if you have multiple families looking to book a spectacular vacation.

"The newly built timber and log home was beautiful. The views of Newfound Lake from a perch that allowed us to see the sunrise over the mountains, the moonlight lit up the lake. We saw more stars than we’d seen in a long time. We saw Venus and Saturn. Things we hadn’t noticed were noticeable. "
